Setting the pages alight
It's always a nice challenge to look for creative
ways to make the media spend go further. In this case the product
was a new iron from Philips that had a feature which allowed it to
switch off before burning the clothing or, worse, the house down!
The usual media option for such a launch was a print DPS (Double Page
Spread), but the client was persuaded on this rather nifty concept
in cooperation with the media owner, where a succession of 1/4 pages
was 'burned' through the pages. It got the message across in a highly
striking (as in, 'while the iron is hot'. Sorry, couldn't resist!)
manner, and also extended the media frequency so it could work its
magic more often.
